Alena7Alena 7 is a popular television/radio host and interviewer of many national recording artists and film stars.   Alena made her way up from production assistant at BET News to local reporter for CTV News to Co-Host of Radio-One WOL’s local leading business show “The Marketing Pulpit”.  Skilled at conversing live coupled with her quick wit, Alena entered the spotlight with poise, style, talent and loads of energy when she became the Host of WPGC’s online video show where she hosted, edited and produced PGCTV’s video show which gave her a platform to debut her dynamic personality and break into the entertainment world.

Alena was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts, and moved to Washington, D.C. after being selected to attend the famed Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Georgetown, Washington, DC.  This youngest daughter of Cape Verdean heritage (African & Portuguese ethnicity) has three great loves – acting, TV hosting and modeling. She is a graduate of the famed Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she studied theatre. After graduating from Duke Ellington, she went on to study Communications and Fine Arts at Howard University.

She became Miss DC USA 1993 representing the nations capital in the Miss USA pageant live on CBS from Wichita, Kansas.  Alena began acting & modeling in the late 1990’s.  After completing her reign as Miss DC USA, she moved to Los Angeles and officially began her career in acting.  Alena got her first opportunity to perform when she was cast on the sitcom Sister Sister.  Guest work continued in other comedy series like Between Brothers, The Mike Hammer Show on the TNT network before landing a recurring role on NYPD BLUE.

Alena has had a significant career in the theatre. Her performances have ranged from Like Being Me; Dream on Monkey Mountain; and The Amen Corner as well as receiving a certificate for Best Supporting Actress from the prestigious Folger Theatre in Washington, DC during the 1986 Shakespearean Festival. After a short hiatus from acting, she appeared on stage once again in March 2006 with LisaRaye McCoy, Vanessa Williams, Meredith Baxter, Terry Vaughn, MC Lyte, Dawn Lewis and several others actresses in the Eve Ensler play called “Vagina Monologues”. This Los Angeles production was directed by Penny Johnson Jerald and played to a sell out crowd at the famed Wilshire Ebell Theater.

In 2005, Alena started hosting her own show on Clear Channel’s 1260am station entitled
“Stacey & Alena on Progressive Talk 1260”. The show focused on raising awareness about women’s issues. The show highlighted her ability to engage audiences with quick-witted responses and practical advice. She also lends her voice to various commercials, network announcements and radio promotions.

Alena 7 - Physioball PalladiumAlena 7 opened her own company in 2006 and has garnered several branding deals through Alena 7 Entertainment.  Currently, she has a podcast deal in the works and is looking forward to continuing to grow and brand Alena 7 through her creative endeavors as a leading on-air talent in the metropolitan Washington, DC area.

Alena has a growing fitness business in the metropolitan area with a signature fitness high-intensity interval training bootcamp business entitled, “Bodied Bootcamp by Alena 7”.

She is currently working on a distribution deal to develop several interval training bootcamp tapes for adults, student-athletes and moms on the go.
